New Years Walk

Over break, my family and I went to Chelan for a couple days. We actually just got back tonight. We stayed at a condo right by the lake. We used to go there every summer when I was little, but to be there in the winter is a whole different experience. It's so awesome to see all the snow covered hills and experience the cold air instead of the heat over there. So I decided to take a walk around the condo complex. The trees around the condo were decorated with white and colored lights which I love. Why do lights always have a magical effect on us? There are docks around every house, but they looked kind of funny because the water was so far out. They seemed to long for summer! Sometimes I do too. I walked around the pool area and thought how awesome it would be to jump in the hot tub and how cold it would be running back. It was really cold outside. The hills surrounding the lake were beautiful with all of their snow! There was a thin cloud floating halfway up the hill which made for some cool scenery. The prompt for this walk made me think about how much I have changed since last year. Wow. So many different experiences that seem like they took place so long ago! My family and I had sat down last night and reflected on this last year and things we want to change, or work on this coming year or goals we have. I reflected on what I said on my walk. I have had some great accomplishments and also some great heartache. I can see how God has been working in me. Recently, actually over Christmas break, my pastor's wife has spoken truth over my life and called out an unhealthy thing that I must ditch. This new perspective is liberating, and I am so excited to develop the habit of spending time daily time with God, and building up my trust in Him. That is one of my goals for this New Year.
